Ledyard Gallery

The Ledyard Gallery is the Howe Library’s space for exhibiting work by artists of the Upper Valley. In addition to exhibits by individual artists, we host annual group exhibits such as the Elden Murray contest, the Hanover High Art Show, and the 55+ Art Show.

Artist Statement:

I am an artist who transforms fabric into art quilts. The materials I choose speak to me through color, texture, and design. In constant dialog with my work, a swirling energy of spirals, playful stitching and poetic shapes emerge. While designing, I listen to the conversation. Each piece is unique in the direction it takes me. The conversation continues throughout the process to bring the piece to a place that is both powerful and exciting.
Margaret Sheehan [full statement]

My love of creative problem solving has been the thread connecting my work, play, and spiritual journeys, and fiber construction has been my consistent medium of choice. With several art quilts in progress at the same time, I use a holistic approach to creating multi-layered expressions of geometric patterns, landscapes, and abstractions symbolizing the challenges and joys of life – chaos, resilience, reflection, persistence, beauty, nature.
