Howe Library: A Special Partnership
Howe Library is a partnership
of The Howe Library Corporation
and the Town of Hanover
Howe
Library Corporation Owns the Library building
and administers endowment funds. The income from the funds supports
special collections purchases and other Library enhancements.
The Members elect and advise the Trustees.
Hanover
Residents Elect Board of Selectmen
and approve the Library's operating budget as a part of the Town
budget.
Trustees
of the Howe Library Corporation Manage and oversee the
assets and activities of the Corporation. Set policies other
than for personnel and operating budget.
Hanover Board
of Selectmen and Town Manager Establish and provide
operating budget and employ paid Library personnel and set policies
for both.
Library
Director and Staff Manage day-to-day Library
operation and provide professional guidance to Library growth
and evolution.
