Personal Services for Library UsersHOME DELIVERY Volunteers are available to deliver materials to home bound residents of Hanover. We will select materials for you if you like. Phone 643-4120 or email reference@thehowe.org.
SERVICES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES Magnification: Optelec color video magnifier enlarges text from books, magazines and newspapers, plus maps, photographs and other images. Computer software: JAWS speech reading software reads web pages or documents in a word processing program. Using headphones, a user can hear a voice synthesizer reading the text. Screen magnification software: MAGIC screen magnification software enlarges text on a computer screen from 2 to 16 times; BigShot screen magnification software enlarges text for those who need less magnification. OTHER SERVICES The New Hampshire State Library and the Vermont State Library offer special services to persons with disabilities. The New Hampshire Talking Books program exists to meet the reading needs and interests of New Hampshire residents who are physically unable to see, handle or process printed material comfortably. The Vermont Department of Libraries, Special Services Division (800-479-1711) oversees the talking books program in Vermont.
